Speed range: 0.5× to 3×. Interpolation: bezier.

Best for

Shape

Alternates 3× and 0.5× on a 20% period — two slow dips at 20% and 60% — and finishes at 2× so the clip hands off to the next one with momentum.

Why it works

A montage needs pace and it needs punctuation. The 3× stretches are pace; the two 0.5× dips are where the viewer is allowed to see a face, a landing, a plate.

How to shoot for it

60 fps is enough; 0.5× from 60 fps is a clean 30 fps. Any lower and the dips look like stutter rather than slow motion.

FAQ

Can I add a third dip?
Yes — drag a new point in at 0.5× around the 40% mark. Three dips work on clips over 12 seconds; on shorter clips they crowd.
